US-Nigeria Trade Council names Iyalode Alaba Lawson as new Chairman – https://agronigeria.com.ng

Iyalode Alaba Lawson has been named the new chairman of the US-Nigeria Trade Council (USA). The Council disclosed that Lawson is to provide leadership and overall guidance and direction in the programmes, policy and strategic efforts to improve the trade traffic between US and Nigeria.

As the council added new members to its advisory board, it stated that, “The board is truly exemplary in their individual and combined extensive expertise in business, commerce, academics, government and international relations.”

Following the announcement, Iyalode Alaba Lawson, MFR, FIoD, JP, has graciously accepted the appointment to serve as the Chairman of the Advisory Board.

Currently serving as the first female President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson is a Nigerian business magnate, entrepreneur and academician. She’s the Proprietor of Lawson Group of Schools and Chairman of Abestone Microfinance Bank.

She is the Chairman Board of Governing Council, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Ogun State (MAPOLY), Fellow Institute of Directors (IoD), Justice of Peace (JP) and Council Member – Nigerian British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC).

US-Nigeria Trade Council hosts visiting Nigerian Rotarians in Atlanta

The US-Nigeria Trade Council (USNTC) in collaboration with Pan African American Chamber of Commerce (PaaChamber) hosted the visiting Rotarian’s from Nigeria to a business forum and reception at Georgia Capitol building in Atlanta, Georgia. Rotarian’s from around the world had converged in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, to attend the Rotary International Convention 10-14 June 2017. With the spirit of true southern hospitality, and the Nigerian identity, the US-Nigeria Trade Council leveraged on this occasion to organize a business session in honor of Rotarian’s attending the Convention from Nigeria.
